Scleral lenses tend to exhibit flexure. This is due to the large and uneven surface area of the eye covered by the lens. The result is astigmatism.
The common solution is to make the lens thicker. However, even surprisingly thick lenses can flex as is shown in the link. The LASERFIT solution is to design the lens to follow the natural contour of the eye, thereby eliminating the cause of the flexure.
This results in a very thin lens that does not exhibit flexure.
