Laserfit® Scleral Lens Fitting Process
①Plan Your Visit To Dallas, Texas
Plan to be with us for 5-7 working days for the Laserfit® Lens process. Most of the time only 5 days is needed, however in some complex cases an extra day or two may occasionally be necessary. Once your appointment has been confirmed, it is time to make travel plans and book hotel accommodation.
We recommend you book your stay with Staybridge Suites hotel in Irving. They have a special discounted rate for Laserfit® patients. Upon arrival give the hotel a call, and their complimentary shuttle service will collect you from the airport. They are conveniently located only a few miles away.
We suggest booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as we are often booked up for many months in advance and can only accommodate a limited group of patients per week.
②Hotel Check-In & Getting Around
Once checked in, we suggest you make use of the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service to explore the sights, shops, and restaurants of Coppell and surrounds. In addition to taking you to your scleral fitting appointments, the complimentary hotel shuttle will drop you off and collect you anywhere within a 3-mile radius of the hotel. There is also the enormous Grapevine Mills shopping mall nearby. Many folks with time between appointments enjoy a nostalgic train ride on the Grapevine vintage railroad, which travels all the way to the old Fort Worth Stockyards.
For travel further afield we recommend using Uber or regular cab services.
③Daily Visits with Us
Each business day, the hotel shuttle will drop you off and collect you from our premises, which is only a few miles away. On the first day, you will spend about 2 hours with us. We will dilate your eyes and take the many scans needed for the design and manufacture of your precision scleral lens. On days 2-5, we will see you for a short 30-minute afternoon session, which will involve the fitting of that day’s newly fabricated lenses.
This will continue until you have the best fitting set of scleral lenses with the best possible vision. During the process, you will be given a schedule for slowly increasing your scleral lens wear time and will be taught how to insert, remove and care for your scleral lens correctly.
④Return home with your new Lenses
You now have your very own set of custom Laserfit® scleral lenses. It’s now time to return home with your new vision and get back to enjoying life and the world seen in crisp, detailed, comfortable focus. Many of our patients leave with 20/15 or better vision.
