Dr. Greg Gemoules succeeded in improving my eyesight in a way that no other optometrist or ophthalmologist was able to do. I suffered corneal damage to both of my eyes as a result of a face lift operation in May 2013. After the operation I received excellent treatment by corneal and retinal specialists at world renowned eye institutes in Baltimore, Maryland, where I live, and they did everything they could to help me. I was very happy with their care. They concluded that I needed scleral lenses for normal daily activities such as driving and reading. I was fitted with scleral lenses and wore them for over a year, and although the lenses improved my vision sufficiently for me to function, the results were not entirely satisfactory, so I decided to search the internet for a better solution, and with great luck I found Dr. Greg Gemoules.
Dr. Greg Gemoules has a patented technique that enables him to specially design scleral lenses to meet the specific requirements of each patient’s cornea. The result is a lens that yields optimal vision. He fitted me with scleral lenses that were specifically made for my unique corneal injury. These are not generic scleral lenses. They are personalized lenses that have contours refined down to a microscopic scale that compensates for my corneal imperfections more than what can be achieved with any other technique. The dimensions of the scleral lenses are generated based on the shape of the eye using more than 40 Zernike polynomial coefficients. These lenses perform better than the previous ones I was wearing for the past year. My acuity is improved and I can now wear them all day without feeling any stress in my eyes. They truly are amazing.
I received treatment for five consecutive days in Dr. Gemoules’s clinic located in Coppell, TX. I stayed an extra sixth day just to be sure I was leaving with the best solution possible. Dr. Gemoules took his time to listen to my concerns. I never felt rushed. I felt that his goal was to achieve for me the best results possible, and indeed I left his office satisfied with all the improvements. His staff is friendly and caring. A very nice feature about the way Dr. Gemoules operates is his attention to reading and answering emails. On numerous occasions I was able to get quick responses to my questions simply by emailing him. I’ll never forget the time when I found myself in another state needing a prescription eye solution, which I forgot to take with me, and he made a personal call to the medical supply store and ordered my prescription. My problem was solved immediately due to his personal care and attention. I highly recommend him to anyone who is searching for improvement with scleral lenses.
